The joy is in the creation for Central Texas Artist Bunny Oliver. Her variety of street scenes, landscapes, gardens and floral still lifes are painted in a direct manner with vivid colors and bold brushstrokes.
Oliver has studied with Ray Vinella of Taos, New Mexico, among other leading impressionists. Oliver and her husband, Jim, travel across the country and in Europe seeking inspiration for her paintings. She is represented by galleries in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas. Oliver's work has been selected for several one-person shows and exhibits of Oil Painters of America, Hill Country Art Foundation, and Galveston Art League.
Highlights of her career are exhibiting at Biennale Internazionale dell'Arte Contemporanea in Florence, Italy in 2003, and the 2001 Black Tie and Boots Inaugural Ball in Washington D.C. Her work was also selected for Salon International 2004 at Greeenhouse Gallery in San Antonio.
Whether painting sunsets or the glow of the morning sun from the back porch of her home in the hills west of Austin, or a vibrant still life in her studio, Oliver's goal is to portray the beauty and harmony God intended for mankind to enjoy. "I strive to take the viewer's mind off the negative and offer an invitation to celebrate the positive instead."
