Deborah Johnson
.“Oh, I want to be there!” is a phrase often heard when the artwork of Deborah
Johnson is being viewed. Her realistic representational works of various scenes
and objects invoke a feeling of peace and serenity in the midst of a stressful,
busy world. Deborah is a romantic at heart with a strong sense of light and
how it plays around objects and colors. She is drawn to things that are beautiful,
be it a Caribbean beach, flowers by a Victorian porch, or a child’s smile.
Her joy in life is reflected in her art; she hopes that the art will bring
a sense of beauty and joy to the beholder.
Deborah has studied with Dan Gerhartz, Kevin McPherson, Ted Goerschner, Kathleen
Cook, Marlin Linville, Janice Yow Hindes, and Charline Eppright.
Deborah shares her love of painting and her knowledge of the painting process
through weekly oil painting classes in Austin.
