Sheree Moates

From Sheree's first box of crayon's and her mother enrolling her in children's workshops on university campuses, she developed a love for color and creativity.  After marrying her high school sweetheart, she continued her interest, studying at workshops and receiving her associaates degree in art.  A turning point in her education came when she was chosen to study with renowned Texas artist, Dalhart Windberg.  Questions that had not been answered for her, were now being answered by Mr. Windberg as he opened another level in her education.

Although inspirational art is her main focus, Sheree also enjoys painting nature and florals from God's handiwork.  Sheree works in several art mediums including prismacolors, watercolors, and pastels, with oils being her primary medium.  She feels the subject dictates its own medium, and she does not want to limit herself.  This brings a wide variety to her paintings and especially to the collectors of her work.

Sheree and her husband, Mike, live on a farm and ranch in west Texas.  Sheree and Mike have 2 grown daughters.  Sheree also teaches children's art and adult workshops.

"The creations of God intrigued me to paint the light that illuminates the leaves of an old oak tree, the sparkle on the water of a calm morning river, and the hues of orchid, peach, and yellow reflection on the majestic clouds of a Texas sunset.  From my very realistic brush paintings to my more impressionistic palette knife paintings, my viewers are drawn into the art of nature in hopes they will linger a while, and bring them a sense of peace away from this chaotic world.  There is a physical, emotional, and spiritual value that comes from these paintings that I hope to portray to the viewer."
